Hello:

While researching the etymology of the english word tycoon,I found that while this word was derived from the japanese TAIKUN meaning GREAT RULER,other info suggest that in chinese a TAIKUN is a DA WANG meaning GREAT,BIG PRINCE.

I also saw that there were two other chinese terms used to reffer to a tycoon.They were the words *CAIFA & THE WORD JUTOU.Can anyone tell me what ideas these words express regarding a tycoon? I assume the point to different ideas pertaining to his or hers character.IF possible,please share with me what the chinese letter characters symbolize in the name & what ideas lie behind them,and how it all ties together with the meaning of the word.<------1.TAI+KUN 2.JU+TOU 3.CAI+FA !

What I find interesting is that,while this term was given to shoguns(GENERALS)who took over the throne an emperor,not being realated to him,in the west the title is assoc. with one who is wealthy.It appears that the typical usage of the title meaning "ONE WHO OBTAINS POWER THROUGH MIGHT OR HARD WORK,RATHER THAN INHERITANCE" can easily be seen in the life of a wealthy person who came from humble beginnings & a military man.

With hard work, might & power is obtained by both & not inherited.I could be wrong in my thinking about  this,but this appears to be the ideas expressed,as the military man & the wealthy man appear to start their lives with nothing,and end up having it all<------POWER,PRESTIGE,WEALTH!They go from being nobody to somebody very important,having even more power than Governmental figure heads<--------KINGS!

Please share thoughts on this & again I would appreaciate any insight on the chinese character letters symbolism as well as the ideas contained behind them.SINCERELY TRINITY!
