学校里那些新来的学生 freshmen叫‘新生’，那些 continuing students 又叫什么呢？是‘老生’吗？但翻了一些词典，在‘老生’条下都没有这个解释。所以在这里问一问。

continuing students 可以翻译为 “在读生”。

它的反义词好像不是 freshmen ，而是 commencing students 。

我不是肯定的但是我觉得"freshmen"是新来的学生（第一年上大学），可是 continuing student是一个学生，他去年已经在大学，就继续上大学。不知道有没有中文词:)
