I learned that duibuqi is I'm sorry from a show in Mandarin. However a Chinese learning program has I'm sorry as wo hen yihan. Are there any other ways to say I'm sorry in Mandarin? Also, when is it appropriate to use each term?

You say 对不起 when you let somebody down or made a serious mistake. For example, don't use it if your late to class. there 不好意思 would be more fitting because you are sorry in an embarrasing kind of way.
我很遗憾 is used if you regret something.
