i've begun studying chinese at Venice University in September 2008, and thanks to you and my will i've been able to manage chinese language (for my level of course!) greatly:everything was fine, all was heard and understood, the sky was bright and the flowers blue...
Anyway;today's lesson has shocked me, because our professor Xu(not so SLOW after all!) has spoken with a language speed never heard before, and moreover told us that in January's exam he will speak like that...

Results... about two hours of lesson and i've understood the 20%...
How to improve my listeninig ability?

Watch some Chinese TV or movies on youku.com or tudou.com. 周星驰 has always been a favorite of mine. You can start with the most recent one: 长江7号

The best is to find real-life Chinese people and just hang around them and listen to them speak Chinese all day long. :-P

Watching TV shows is 2nd best.

Search the internet for podcasts in Chinese and listen to them when you are on the bus or walking down the street. It takes a few days to get into them but soon your listening will get a lot better.
